Warning! Cars are equipped with security systems (SRS), including airbags and seat belt tensioners. Before carrying out work near the shock sensors, the instrument panel and the steering column, first disconnect the negative and then the positive terminals from the battery and wait 2 minutes. This will prevent unauthorized deployment of the airbags and deployment of the seat belt pretensioners, which could cause injury.
Remove the instrument panel as follows:
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire «masses» from the battery.
Remove trim panels from instrument panel and center console.
Remove the instrument cluster.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the front passenger airbag and on models from 2001 release, remove the airbag.
Remove the radio from the instrument panel.
Remove the air conditioner control panel.
Remove the lower left trim panel and panel reinforcement. Turn out bolts of fastening of a steering column and reject it downwards from the panel of devices.

Label and disconnect the electrical connectors from the instrument panel (pic. 14.56).

On models before 2001, disconnect the main electrical connectors on each side of the instrument panel and remove the two bolts securing the ground wires in the center of the instrument panel (pic. 14.57).

Remove all bolts, screws and nuts securing the instrument panel to the car body, then lift the panel and through the door, remove it from the car (pic. 14.58). This is laborious work and must be done with an assistant. It may also be necessary to remove the bolts and remove the instrument panel amplifier (pic. 14.59).
Install the instrument panel in the reverse order of removal.
