Attention! Be sure to replace both springs on the vehicle axle, even if only one spring is damaged.
Attention! When installing, use springs with the same technical characteristics on the same axle of the car (with the same color coding).
Block the front wheels with chocks. Raise the rear of the car and place it on stands. Remove the wheel.
On models since 2001, disconnect the anti-roll bar link from the lower transverse arm.
Raise the rear trailing arm with a jack to compress the spring and take the load off the shock absorber.

Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt (see fig. 12.20).
Slowly lower the jack together with the rear trailing arm and remove the spring.
Inspect the spring for metal chips or cracks in the spring coating that could cause the spring to fail due to localized corrosion. Also check the condition of the upper spring seat for damage and replace if necessary.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
