The system consists of an electric motor, a control unit, a brake pedal switch, control switches and a speed sensor.
Due to the nature of the system, special test tools and diagnostic checks are required to verify the system.
The following are only general checks to help locate the fault:
Check the integrity of the fuses.
Depress the brake pedal and check that the brake lights come on as the brake light switch deactivates the cruise control system.
If the brake lights do not come on or stay on, check the switch and cruise control system.

Visually inspect the control cable connecting the electric motor and throttle sector for binding (pic. 15.60). Replace cable if necessary.
If the cruise control system is still not working properly, contact a service station.
