On vehicles with 3ZZ-FE and 1ZZ-FE engines, speed control is carried out via the ETCS-i system.
On vehicles with 1CD-FTV engines, regulation is carried out through the Diesel EFI electronic fuel injection system.
The cruise control ECU is built into the engine ECU.
The cruise control system is included in the standard SOL gradation.

Diagnostics
If the engine ECU in cruise control mode does not receive a speed signal within the set time or the cruise control is turned off (automatic shutdown) Due to a malfunction of the cruise control switch, brake light switch, or erroneous vehicle speed signal, the engine ECU will immediately turn on and off the cruise control indicator lamp on the instrument panel five times to alert the driver of a system malfunction. Faults are assigned codes that are stored in the engine ECU.
Electronic DTCs can be read by connecting an electronic tester II to the DLC3 connector or by connecting SST (09843-18040) to the Tc and CG terminals of the DLC3 and counting the number of times the cruise control warning light flashes.
With the electronic tester II, 5-digit codes can be read. With SST, 2-digit codes can be read by counting the number of times the cruise control warning light flashes. For details, see Corolla Verso Repair Manual (Ed. No. RM1100E).
Electronic DTCs are listed in Table 1.36 below.
