Relieve pressure in the fuel system.
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Remove the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly from the fuel tank.
For car models before 2001, proceed with the following procedure to remove the regulator:
- remove the clamp securing the pressure regulator to the fuel filter, then loosen the clamp and remove the hose from the pressure regulator;

- remove the screws and the pressure regulator from the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly (figure 5.13);
For car models from 2001 onwards, proceed with the following procedure to remove the regulator:
- remove the suction plate from the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly.
- release from the clamps and remove the fuel line from the fuel pressure regulator.

- remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly (figure 5.14).

Install the fuel pressure regulator in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following: Before installing the fuel pressure regulator, be sure to install a new sealing ring on it.
