To access the fuel pump/level sensor assembly, remove the rear seat and cover covering the fuel pump/fuel level sensor service port (pic. 5.6, 5.7).
Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly. Disconnect the fuel hoses and, if equipped, the fuel vapor pressure sensor electrical connector.
Turn out bolts of fastening of a cover of the block of the fuel pump/sensor of level of fuel.
Pic. 5.8. Attachment location for auxiliary fuel suction hose to fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly on models since 2001
Carefully remove the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly from the fuel tank. On models since 2001, after the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly has exited the fuel tank, disconnect the auxiliary fuel suction hose from the underside of the assembly (pic. 5.8).
Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
Remove the fuel pump from the block.
Pic. 5.9. Removing the lower part of the fuel pump from the bracket on models up to 2001 of release
On pre-2001 models, loosen the clamp and remove the hose, then remove the bottom of the pump from the bracket (pic. 5.9).
On models since 2001, disconnect the fuel level sensor by moving the pump away from the fuel suction plate.
Remove the fuel filter and suction plate from the retainers.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
