Fuel pressure regulator [Toyota Carina T190]

Serie A
1 - fuel return hose,
2 - vacuum hose,
3 - fuel pressure regulator,
4 - O-ring seal.




3S-FE, 4S-FE
1 - vacuum hose,

Checking on the engine



Check the fuel pressure (see "Fuel pump - check on engine").

Removal the regulator



4A-FE, 5A-FE, 7A-FE

Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Disconnect the vacuum hose.

Disconnect the fuel return hose.

Remove the pressure regulator by unscrewing the 2 mounting bolts.

EE, 4S-FE

Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

3. Disconnect fuel pipe No.1 by unscrewing the bypass bolt.



4. Remove the pressure regulator by unscrewing the 2 mounting bolts.

Installing the regulator



4A-FE, 5A-FE, 7A-FE

a) Apply a thin layer of fuel (or lithol) to the new O-ring and install it on the regulator.

b) By rocking the regulator left and right, connect the regulator to the fuel manifold.

c) Tighten the 2 regulator mounting bolts.
  • Tightening torque - 10 Nm

Note: Perform this operation correctly as shown in the figure, avoiding pinching the O-ring.


2. Connect the fuel return hose.

2. Connect the vacuum hose.

3S-FE, 4S-FE

1. Install the regulator.

a) Apply a thin layer of fuel (or lithol) to the new O-ring and install it on the regulator.



b) By rocking the regulator left and right, connect the regulator to the fuel manifold.

c) Tighten the 2 regulator mounting bolts.
  • Tightening torque - 8 Nm

Note: Perform this operation correctly as shown in the figure, avoiding pinching the O-ring.

5 - incorrect.


3. Connect fuel pipe No.1.


  • Tightening torque - 18 Nm

4. Connect the vacuum hose.

5. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
