The IAC valve controls the amount of air bypassing the throttle into the engine cylinders at idle speed. The valve is controlled by the engine control unit depending on the engine load (air conditioning, power steering) and operating mode (cold or hot engine).
Idle speed control valve replacement (IAC) produce as follows:
- remove the throttle assembly;
- unscrew the screws and remove the idle speed control valve and its gasket;
Install in the reverse order of removal. Use a new gasket when installing.
