The IAC valve controls the amount of air that bypasses the throttle valve and enters the engine cylinders at idle speed. The valve is controlled by the engine control unit depending on the engine load (air conditioning, power steering) and operating mode (cold or hot engine).
To replace the idle speed control (IAC) valve, proceed as follows:
- remove the throttle assembly;
- remove the screws and idle speed control valve and its gasket;
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Use a new gasket when installing.
