Camshaft position sensor (CMP) determines the position of the piston in the first cylinder and gives signals for sequential fuel injection into the engine cylinders. The sensor is mounted on the cylinder head near the camshaft pulley (pic. 7.14, 7.15).
Replacing the camshaft position sensor (CMP) on models from 1998, proceed as follows:
- turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire «masses» from the storage battery;
- remove the air filter housing;
- Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the screws and remove the sensor.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
