Mounting the generator on the V6 engine

Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Disconnect connectors from generator.
3. Loosen the adjusting (IN) and lock (A) alternator bolts.
4. Turn out adjusting and lock bolts.
5. Remove the axle bolt on the 2.7L engine.
6. Remove the alternator and bracket from the engine.
7. If you decide to replace the generator, then keep in mind that the new generator must exactly match the one being replaced. Many new generators do not have pulleys, so you will have to move the pulley from the unit you are replacing.
8. The generator is installed in the reverse order.
