Removal and installation



1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

2. Disconnect the connectors from the generator.



3. Loosen the generator adjusting (B) and locking (A) bolts.



4. Remove the adjusting and locking bolts.



5. Remove the axle bolt on the 2.7L engine.

6. Remove the generator and bracket from the engine.

7. If you decide to replace the alternator, keep in mind that the new alternator must exactly match the one being replaced. Many new alternators do not have pulleys, so you will have to replace the pulley from the unit being replaced.

8. The generator is installed in reverse order.
