Using a screwdriver blade as a lever, pry the rear window defroster switch loose and remove it from the instrument panel.
Disconnect the electrical connector, press the latch and remove the switch from the housing.
Removal the rear window defroster switch on 2001 and later models
It is produced as follows.

Remove the screws and the center trim from the instrument panel (see Figure 14.51).

Remove the screws and pull the heater control unit out of the instrument panel, then disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the switch (see Figure 15.25). Press the latch and remove the switch from the holder.
Install the rear window defroster switch of both types in the reverse order of removal.
