Headlight housing
Caution! Halogen lamps are filled with gas under pressure; if the headlight is dropped or the cylinder is scratched, it may explode. Wear protective gloves and glasses. Do not touch the bulbs with your fingers - a greasy finger stain will cause the bulb to burn out quickly. Fingerprints should be wiped off with a cloth soaked in methyl alcohol.
Removal
1. Remove the bulb from the headlight housing (see paragraph 15).
2. To gain access to the lower headlight mounting bolts, do the following:
- On pre-2000 models, remove the lower trim panel below the headlight.
- On 2001 and later models, remove the radiator/bumper support panel and front bumper panel (see chapter 11).
3. Loosen the mounting bolts, separate the headlight housing and remove it from the car (see Figure 17.3, a-c).

Installation
4. Install the headlight housing in the reverse order of removal. Check the headlight adjustment (see paragraph 16).
