Rear differential oil change (every 30,000 km or every 2 years) [Toyota RAV4 XA20]

Changing the oil in the rear differential

1. Raise the rear of the vehicle with a jack and install safety stands.

2. Unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil (see Figure 21.2)

3. Install the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque (see Specifications at the beginning of the chapter).

4. Fill with new oil until it reaches the bottom edge of the filler hole (see paragraph 20 and section "Liquids and lubricants").
