1. If the engine does not start, and the starter turns the crankshaft, then disconnect the wire from the spark plug of the left cylinder and connect it to a test spark gap. The spark gap must be designed to test the DIS system.
Caution! Use the wires from the left cylinder head for testing, as access to the coils of the right cylinders is difficult and will require disassembly.
2. If a spark is observed, remove the spark plugs and check.
3. If there is no spark or the spark formation is unstable, then check the voltage from the battery to each coil, check the coils and sensors (see subsection 11.4).
4. Check the signal from the electronic unit on the coils.
5. To do this, open the connector and connect the control LED to the connector terminal that is supplied with power from the battery. When the crankshaft rotates, the LED should light up when a signal arrives from the electronic unit.
6. The electronic and processor units are checked at the car service.
