Attention: check the level and condition of the automatic transmission fluid regularly (every 1000 km).
Note: The car must be driven before reaching the normal operating temperature of 70-80°C of the working fluid.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. While the engine is running at idle speed, while holding the brake pedal, move the selector to all positions from "R" before "L" and put it back in position "R".
3. Measure the fluid level with the engine running at idle speed. Remove the dipstick and wipe it dry.
4. Fully insert the dipstick into the nozzle.
5. Remove the dipstick: the fluid level must be between the marks "NOT" (warmed up). If the level is below this range, add fluid.
Note: The type of automatic transmission is stamped on an aluminum plate located in the engine compartment, in the line marked TRANS / AXLE.
Type of working fluid:
- A241L, A245E, A241E - DEXRON III
- A540H - Toyota Type T or equivalent
Note:
- if it is not possible to fill in the working fluid type T, then the use of DEXRON III is acceptable.
- Castrol Transmax Z fluid is an analogue of Toyota TYPE T fluid.
Note: Do not overfill above the set level.
6. If the fluid smells burnt, dark or viscous, change it. To determine fluidity, compare it with fresh working fluid using a paper towel. Normal working fluid is easily absorbed by the paper, while bad working fluid is absorbed slowly.
