1. The valve and hose of the positive crankcase ventilation system are located in the cylinder head cover.
2. Disconnect the hose, tighten the PCV valve from the cap, and then connect the hose.
3. With the engine idling at normal operating temperature, close the valve opening with your fingers. If there is no vacuum at the valve, check the hose or valve for blockage. Replace any clogged or damaged hoses.
4. Turn off the engine. Remove the PCV valve from the hose. Blow out the valve from the side of the cylinder head cover. If air does not pass through the valve in this direction, replace it with a new one.
5. When purchasing a replacement PCV valve, make sure it is suitable for your specific vehicle and engine. Compare the old valve with the new one to make sure they are identical.
