Warning! The models covered by this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), commonly known as the air bag system. To prevent accidental air bag deployment, which could result in injury, be sure to disable the air bag system before working near air bag components (see chapter 12).
Caution: When working inside doorways, use gloves to avoid cutting yourself on sharp metal edges.
Front and rear doors
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery (see paragraph 1 of chapter 5).
2. Remove the retainer (Fig. 15.2).

3. Remove the set screw to remove the inner door handle frame (fig. 15.3, a, b).

4. Using a trim remover, pry and remove the window switch panel and disconnect the electrical connectors (Fig. 15.4).

5. Using a trim remover, pry and remove the outside mirror trim panel (Fig. 15.5).

6. Remove the inner door handle frame and then unscrew the screw located underneath it (Fig. 15.6).

7. Carefully pry the panel up and pull it until the latches are completely released (Fig. 15.7). Work slowly and carefully along the outer edge of the panel until it is completely released. Disconnect all connectors and remove the panel.

8. To access the outside door handle or the window regulator inside the door, raise the glass completely and then carefully separate the plastic waterproofing sheet (Fig. 15.8).

9. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Luggage compartment door
10. Remove the door opening limiter mounting bolt (fig. 15.10).

11. Using a screwdriver or trim puller, release the clips and remove the trim panel from the tailgate. Work slowly and carefully around the outer edge of the trim panel until the panel is completely free. Disconnect all connectors and remove the panel.
12. To access other elements inside the door, carefully remove the plastic waterproofing sheet.
13. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
