1. Circuit breakers (or breakers) are used to protect electrical circuits for certain functions such as power window motors or heated seats. Depending on the vehicle, the breakers may be located in or near the fuse and relay boxes.
2. Since the resetting of such switches is automatic, an electrical overload in a system protected by a circuit breaker causes the electrical circuit to momentarily open and then close again. If the electrical circuit does not turn on again, check it immediately.
3. As a basic check, pull the breaker up out of its socket, not the fuse panel, but just far enough to use a voltmeter. The breaker should still remain in contact with the socket.
4. Lead the negative lead of the voltmeter to a good point «masses» on the chassis, and then touch each end of the breaker with the positive probe. Battery voltage must be present at each end. If battery voltage is only present at one end, the breaker should be replaced.
5. Some breakers must be reset manually.
