Examination
Attention! Models covered in this manual are equipped with an assisted restraint system (SRS), better known as «airbag system». To prevent accidental deployment of airbags, which could result in injury, be sure to deactivate the airbag system before working near components of the airbag system (see paragraph 25).
1. When the turn signal and hazard warning light relay is working properly, a distinctive clicking sound can be heard when it is activated.
2. If the direction indicators on one side or the other do not work and the indicator and alarm relay does not make a characteristic clicking sound, or any direction indicator on one side of the vehicle flashes much faster than normal, and the indicator on the other end of the vehicle (but on the same side) does not light up at all, probably the turn signal lamp is faulty.
3. If both turn signals do not flash, the cause may be a blown fuse, a faulty turn signal and alarm relay, a switch failure, or a loose or broken connection. If a quick check of the fuse box indicates a blown fuse, check the wiring for a short circuit before installing a new fuse.
Replacement

4. Remove the knee buffer.
5. Locate the turn signal and hazard warning light relays in the front panel electrical junction box (pic. 6.5).
Pic. 6.5. The turn signal and hazard warning light relay is located at the top end of the front panel electrical junction box
6. Disunite an electric socket of this relay.
7. Remove the relay from the front panel electrical junction box.
8. Verify that the replacement relay is identical to the original. Before installing the relay, compare the old element with the new one.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
