Attention! If the vehicle is equipped with electronically controlled air suspension, turn off the suspension height control switch.
1. Tires should be replaced at prescribed intervals and when uneven wear is observed. Since you still need to raise the car and remove the wheel, at the same time check the brakes (see paragraph 12).
2. Radial tires should be swapped in a certain order (pic. 8.2, a, b).
Pic. 8.2, a. How to change four wheels with radial tires
Pic. 8.2b. The procedure for rearranging wheels, taking into account the dependent wheel (should only be used if the tire on the dependent wheel is the same size as the other four)
3. For a description of the correct procedure for lifting the car and replacing tires, refer to the information provided in the paragraph «Lifting and towing a car» at the beginning of this guide. If you intend to test the brakes at the same time, do not set the parking brake as directed. Place wheel chocks under the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
4. Preferably, the entire car is raised at the same time. This can be done using a lifting device or by jacking up each corner and then lowering it on the racks installed under the side members. Be sure to use four stands and make sure that the supports are secure under the vehicle and that it is stable.
5. After rearranging the wheels, check and, if necessary, adjust the tire pressure and check the tightness of the wheel nuts.
6. For more information about wheels and tires, see chapter 10.
