The temperature sensor of the air entering the engine is a thermistor, i.e. a resistor whose resistance changes with temperature. As the temperature decreases, the resistance of the sensor increases and vice versa (see technical data).
Replacing the air temperature sensor entering the engine (IAT), on models up to 2001, proceed as follows:
- turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire «masses» from the storage battery;

- disconnect the electrical connector from the IAT sensor (pic. 7.10);
- Remove the IAT sensor from the air filter housing.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
