Attention! On some cars "Toyota 4 Runner/ Hilux/ Surf" a printed antenna is installed, all maintenance work on which is carried out in a car service center.


1. Remove the receiver and disconnect the plug. Disconnect all latches and clamps along the antenna route. Attach a wire (cord) about 1.5 m long to the antenna.

2. Unscrew the antenna mast.



3. Loosen the base nut, remove the base and pull out the cable until the auxiliary wire is visible.

4. Attach the wire to the new antenna cable and pull the cable in.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Electric powered antenna



Attention! Work is performed by two people.




6. Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position.

7. Unscrew the antenna base nut.

8. Acting simultaneously (together with an assistant), press the AM/FM buttons on the radio and turn the ignition key to the ACC position – at this point you need to hold the antenna. The antenna will extend and completely exit the electric motor winch. Remove the mast, the ignition key should still be in the ACC position.



9. Remove the three latches (indicated by arrows) inner panel of the wheel arch in the opening between the wheel and the wing, remove the panel, disconnect the connector.



10. Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the antenna motor.

11. Attach the wire to the new antenna cable and pull the cable into the passenger compartment.



12. Install the electric motor.



13. Install the antenna mast so that the teeth on the cable face forward.



14. Reel in the cable and retract the mast by turning the ignition key to the LOCK position (if the key has already been turned to this position from the ACC position, then follow the steps (see item 8). If the cable does not reel in, then turn it in the direction of the arrow.

15. Tighten the base nut even if the mast is not fully retracted. Press the range selection buttons on the receiver and the antenna will retract.

16. Then the installation is carried out in reverse order.
