Attention! The outer CV joint is non-separable. It is more cost-effective to replace the axle shaft assembly.
1. Remove the axle shaft.
2. Clamp the axle shaft in a vice through a soft pad. Check the radial clearance of the CV joint and the condition of the boot. If damage to the boot is detected, disassemble the joint, clean the parts and inspect.

3. Remove the cover clamps by bending the latches with a screwdriver.
4. Carefully remove the outer cover (or cut if the cover is badly damaged).

5. Remove the inner boot from the CV joint housing and remove the housing.
6. Mark the relative position of the crosspiece and the body.

7. Remove the retaining ring.

8. Knock the crosspiece off the axle shaft using a brass mandrel.

9. Carefully remove the covers (if their condition is satisfactory). When removing the cover, wrap the splines with tape.

10. Wash and inspect all parts. Check the condition of the outer CV joint balls. If wear of the balls is detected, replace the joint (sold complete with axle shaft). Inspect the inner CV joint parts; scratches, pits and burrs are not allowed. Replace the crosspiece if necessary.

11. When assembling, put on the covers, clamps and install the crosspiece on the axle shaft (photo on the left). Lubricate the crosspiece and place grease into the CV joint housing (photo on the right).

12. After installing the housing, fill the cavities with grease.

13. Put the cover on so that the edges fit into the grooves. When assembling, maintain the mounting dimension of the axle shaft.

14. Straighten the edge of the cover.
