On all-wheel drive vehicles, an independent front drive axle is installed, which consists of a gearbox and 2 axle shafts. Each axle shaft has an inner and outer CV joint.
On some cars, the rear differential is self-locking with limited slip, which ensures the alignment of the speeds of rotation of the axle shafts in case of loss of adhesion of one of the wheels to the road.
As a rule, increased noise is not associated with abnormal operation of the bridge (axes). The conclusion about the failure of the bridge should be made only after the exclusion of other causes.
Increased noise may be associated with noise from other sources than the bridge (axis):
- road noise. It is excluded by driving on a road with a quality surface, or by comparing it with noise during acceleration or coasting;
- noise due to insufficient tire pressure or tire wear. Excluded by a trip with acceleration or coasting;
- transmission or engine noise. It is excluded by listening to the operation of the engine with a stationary car at those speeds at which the noise is most pronounced.
- You can independently perform only those works, the content of which is discussed below. The new bridge is selected according to the stamp applied by the manufacturer on the bridge beam.
