Caution: If the vehicle is equipped with electronically controlled air suspension, turn off the height control switch before raising the vehicle.


Application: When removing/replacing any rear suspension components, loosely tighten all bolts, adjust to normal ground clearance, and only then tighten bolts fully.


1. Loosen the wheel nuts, lift the car and place reliable supports under it. Remove the wheel.

2. Unscrew the bolt securing the trailing arm to the hub support (Fig. 11.2).

3. Unscrew the bolt securing the trailing arm to the bracket on the body and disconnect the trailing arm from the vehicle.

Note: It may be necessary to remove the parking brake cable bracket to remove the trailing arm mounting bolt.


4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque specified in Specifications at the beginning of this chapter.
