When deep indentation of body structure elements, first of all try to bend the dent as close as possible to the normal shape of the body. The metal of the body at the point of impact is subjected to stretching, as a result of which a complete restoration of the original shape is impossible. The optimal leveling of the dent is approximately 3 mm below the level of the surrounding surface. If there is access to the inside of the dent, you should carefully straighten it with a hammer with a wooden or plastic head, for which do the following.
Firmly press a wooden block of suitable size on the outside of the straightened area. This is required to absorb hammer blows and prevent arching over a larger area.
If the dent is located in an area of the body where access from the back is difficult or impossible, drill several small holes at the deepest points of the dent, screw in several self-tapping screws and pull the dent out with pliers by the protruding screw heads.
Remove the paint from the damaged area and at a distance of 20 mm around it.
The easiest way to do this is with a wire brush or sandpaper mounted on a circle fixed in an electric drill.
After leveling the dent, apply a layer of putty, paint and polish to it.
