Apply the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.
Loosen the front wheel nuts. Raise the front of the car and place it on stands. Remove the front wheel.

Remove the cotter pin and loosen, but do not completely remove, the nut securing the tie rod end ball joint pin to the steering knuckle (pic. 13.10).
Using pliers or a wrench, hold the tie rod from turning and unscrew the tie rod end locknut a few turns, then mark the position of the end of the tie rod end on the tie rod with paint.

Using a puller, press the ball joint pin of the tie rod end out of the steering knuckle (pic. 13.11).
Loosen the nut and remove the tie rod end ball joint pin from the steering knuckle.
Remove the tie rod end from the tie rod.
Install the tie rod end as follows:
Screw the tie rod end onto the tie rod to the mark made before removal.
Insert the ball joint pin of the tie rod end into the steering knuckle. Tighten the tie rod end locknut.
Screw the nut securing the ball joint pin of the tie rod end to the steering knuckle, tighten it to 36 Nm and install a new cotter pin. If the hole in the cotter pin does not line up with the grooves on the nut, tighten the nut (do not twist) until the grooves on the nut are in line with the hole.
Install the wheel, tighten the nuts, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment.
