Turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire «masses» from the battery.
Use a syringe to draw fluid out of the power steering reservoir.
Install a liquid collection tray under the engine compartment.
Apply the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.
Raise the car on a lift, remove the protection of the engine compartment.
Remove the front section of the exhaust system.

Remove the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles and unscrew the bolt securing the steering mechanism to the transverse beam, then unscrew the bolts and remove the front suspension transverse beam (see fig. 13.15).

Loosen the pivot and clamp bolts, move the power steering pump to the engine and remove the pump drive belt (pic. 13.17).
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the fluid return hose from the pump;

Using a wrench, unscrew the fitting of the discharge hose from the pump (pic. 13.18).
Disconnect the two vacuum hoses from the pump.

Turn out bolts of fastening of an arm of the pump and remove the pump (pic. 13.19);
If necessary, remove the nuts and remove the pump from the bracket.
Install the pump in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Adjust pump drive belt tension.
Add fluid to the power steering reservoir and bleed the air from the hydraulic system.
Remove the power steering pump for models from 2001 as follows:
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire «masses» from the battery.
Use a syringe to draw fluid out of the power steering reservoir.
Install a liquid collection tray under the engine compartment.
Remove the power steering pump drive belt.
Apply the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.
Loosen the right front wheel nuts.
Raise the front of the car and place it on stands.
Remove the right front wheel and the right front wheel arch mudguard.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the power steering pressure sensor.
Turn out a hollow bolt and disconnect a delivery hose from the pump.
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the fluid return hose from the pump.

Remove the bottom bolt, then loosen the top bolt and remove the power steering pump from the engine (pic. 13.20).
Install the pump in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Use new gaskets when installing the hollow bolt of the pressure hose.
Install the wheel, tighten the nuts, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts.
Install the pump drive belt and adjust its tension.
Add fluid to the power steering reservoir and bleed the hydraulic system.
