Removing
1. Remove the front wheel.
- Tightening torque - 105 Nm
2. Drain the power steering fluid.
3. Install the engine support.
4. Disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckle arms.
A) Remove cotter pins and unscrew nuts.
b) Using the special tool, disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckle arms.
Attention: do not damage the boot.
5. Remove the motor protection cover.
6. Disconnect the universal joint.
A) Loosen the bolt securing the hinge to the steering column shaft,
b) Loosen the screw securing the hinge to the worm.
V) Mark the hinge and worm and disconnect the hinge.
7. Disconnect the return and pressure pipes.
8. (2WD, 4WD automatic transmission)
Turn away bolts of an arm of fastening of the delivery pipeline.
(4WD, manual transmission)
Turn away bolts of fastening of a clip.
9. (2WD)
Disconnect the muffler intake pipe.
10. (2WD)
Remove the longitudinal beam.
A) Jack up the longitudinal beam.
b) Turn away bolts and nuts of fastening and remove a longitudinal beam.
11. (4WD)
Loosen the two cross member mounting bolts.
12. Disconnect stabilizer struts.
13. (2WD)
Remove the bolt and two nuts and disconnect the lower suspension arms from the ball joints.
14. Remove the cross beam assembly.
a) (4WD)
Turn away four bolts and disconnect the anti-roll bar from a cross beam.
b) (4WD)
Remove the anti-roll bar.
V) Turn away a bolt and two nuts and disconnect a cross beam in gathering with an engine support.
G) Jack up the cross beam.
d) Turn away bolts and remove additional braces of a cross beam.
e) (4WD)
Turn away bolts of fastening of the steering mechanism to a cross beam.
Attention: when removing the bolts, hold the steering gear.
G) Turn away bolts and remove a cross beam in gathering with the steering mechanism.
15. Disconnect the steering gear from the cross beam.
Installation
1. Installation is made in the reverse order of removal.
2. Refer to assembly drawing for tightening torques for bolts and nuts.
3. When installing the steering gear, align the marks made when removing.
4. When installing the cotter pin on the nut for fastening the tie rod ends to the steering knuckle arms, it is possible to turn the nut at an angle of not more than 60°.
5. After installing the steering gear:
A) Stabilize your suspension (see chapter "Suspension").
b) Top up the power steering fluid.
V) Bleed the power steering system.
G) Make sure there are no leaks in the system.
d) Check wheel angles.
