Attention! Replace the coolant temperature gauge sensor with a cold engine.
Attention! Do not allow coolant to come into contact with clothing or body paintwork. Otherwise, rinse the surface with plenty of water.
Attention! Collect and dispose of the drained coolant.
Replacing the sensor on cars manufactured before 2001
Drain the coolant.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant temperature gauge sensor (pic. 4.20).
Remove the coolant temperature gauge sensor with a wrench.
Screw in the new sensor. Do not apply sealant to the threads of the sensor, as this may interfere with the electrical contact of the sensor with «weight» car.
Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
Fill with coolant.
Start the engine and check for leaks.
Replacing the sensor on cars manufactured since 2001
On vehicles manufactured since 2001, the coolant temperature gauge sensor is an integral part of the coolant temperature sensor used by the engine management system and cannot be replaced separately.
