- do not hold the key in the ignition lock in position «Ignition on» more than 10 s if the engine does not start;
- connect the tachometer in accordance with its operating instructions. Some tachometers may not be compatible with this ignition system;
- Do not connect ignition coil terminals to «weight»;
- Do not disconnect the battery terminals while the engine is running.
In the electronic ignition system, the ignition voltage is more than 30 kV. Under adverse circumstances (high humidity in the engine compartment) voltage peaks can pierce the insulation and cause shock when touched.
To avoid personal injury and damage to the ignition system when working on the system, consider the following:
- do not touch with your hand and do not disconnect the ignition wire while the engine is running or when turning the crankshaft of the engine with a starter;
- disconnect the wires of the ignition system, connect and disconnect any measuring devices only with the ignition off;
- when heated to more than 80°C (e.g. when painting a car), do not start the engine immediately after heating;
- do not wash the engine when it is running;
- when carrying out electric welding work, disconnect the battery;
- it is forbidden to carry out work on the repair of the ignition system to persons with a pacemaker.
