1. Do not leave the ignition on for more than 10 minutes when the engine is not running.
2. When connecting a tachometer to the ignition system, connect the working wire of the tachometer to the IG terminal (-) diagnostic connector of the complex electronic ignition unit, and the power wires to the battery, as shown in the figure.
3. Since not all tachometers are compatible with this ignition system, make sure they are compatible before using the tachometer.
4. Never let the tachometer output contacts touch the "weight": this results in failure of the switch and/or ignition coil of the engine under test.
5. Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
6. Make sure the switch is securely connected to vehicle ground.
