Removing
Chock the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving. Raise the rear of the car and place it on stands. Release the parking brake lever and place the shift lever in neutral.
Use paint or a marker to apply alignment marks to the flange of the differential and the flange of the inner CV joint of the drive shaft.
Pic. 10.4. Arrangement of nuts for fastening the inner CV joint of the rear drive shaft to the differential flange
Remove 4 nuts and separate driveshaft inner CV joint from differential flange (see fig. 10.4).
Hit the pry bar between the inner flange and the differential case with a brass hammer to remove the drive shaft from the differential case.
Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the sealing collar. When removing, do not scratch the cuff insertion slot.
Installation
Clear the groove for installing the cuff. Lubricate the outer surface and the working edge of the cuff with oil.
With a tubular mandrel with an outer diameter slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the collar, install the sealing collar into the groove. Check that the cuff is installed without distortion and at the same depth as before.
Install the differential flange, being careful not to damage the sealing lip.
Check the oil level in the rear final drive, top up if necessary.
Replacement of cuffs on differential with two satellites
If the vehicle has a dual pinion differential, remove the differential from the vehicle.
Turn out bolts and remove a cover from a case of differential.

Use pliers to remove the retaining ring for fastening the side gear of the differential and remove the shaft with the flange (pic. 10.16).

Install the flange shaft into the differential case.
Using pliers, install the retaining ring for the differential side gear.
Clean the mating surfaces of the cover and differential housing from sealant residues. Apply a light coat of RTV sealant to the mating surface of the differential housing, install the cover and bolt it on.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
