Attention! When working on the heater, turn the ignition key to the LOCK position, disconnect the battery from the ground and start work no earlier than 2 minutes later.
Examination
1. By car "Toyota 4 Runner/ Hilux/ Surf" the heater blower unit is mounted under the front panel and under the passenger seat. If the fan fails, check the fuse and the condition of the contacts and wires.
2. Check the electric motor connector for battery voltage (turn on the ignition and move the fan handle to the ON position).
3. If voltage is present, then connect the connector and connect terminal 2 to ground. If the fan does not turn on, then the electric motor may be faulty. In this case, connect the terminals of the electric motor to power and ground through wires protected by fuses. If the electric motor does not turn on, then it must be replaced.
4. If the motor is good, then check the resistor or switch.
Replacement
1. Disconnect the connector, unscrew the 3 screws and remove the blower unit from the casing.
2. To access the rear air vent, remove the passenger seat.
