1. If you have an automatic transmission vehicle, make sure the select lever is in the «N» or «R».
2. Check the connections on the battery terminals for tightness and cleanliness.
3. Turn on interior lighting. If it does not light or burns very weakly or goes out when the starter starts to work, then the battery is discharged. You can start the engine with another battery or, if you have a manual transmission car, with towing.
If the engine cranks at normal speed but does not start:
1. Check the fuel level in the tank.
2. Check all wire connections on the coil, distributor and spark plugs for tightness.
3. If the engine is warm or rich in unburnt fuel, the engine is probably getting too much fuel, see starting instructions above. If the engine still does not start, remove and dry the spark plugs. Crank the engine for about 20 seconds with the starter and screw in the spark plugs again.
4. If the engine still does not want to start, it needs to be adjusted or repaired. Contact a service station for this.
