Note. Speed sensors are located on top of the gearbox in the block with the drive axle. The turbine input speed sensor is located on the left end of the gearbox (on the driver's side); The intermediate gear speed sensor is located to the right of the turbine input speed sensor, closer to the front section of the transmission case.
1. Remove the battery (see chapter 5).
2. Remove the air inlet (see paragraph «Air filter housing - removal and installation» in chapter 4).
3. Locate the RPM sensor you want to replace (pic. 13.3).
Pic. 13.3. Location of gearbox speed sensors:
A - Turbine input speed sensor
B - Intermediate gear speed sensor
4. To replace the sensor, disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor mounting bolt (pic. 13.4, a, b).
Pic. 13.4, a. To replace the turbine input speed sensor, press the locking tab (1) and disconnect the electrical connector, then unscrew the sensor mounting bolt (2)
Pic. 13.4, b. To replace the intermediate gear speed sensor, press the locking tab (1) and disconnect the electrical connector, and then unscrew the sensor mounting bolt (2)
5. Remove the sensor O-ring (pic. 13.5) and throw it away.
Pic. 13.5. Remove and discard the transmission speed sensor O-ring. Be sure to use a new O-ring every time you install the sensor
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
