Cars with gasoline engines



Start – turns on the starter. After releasing, the key returns to the On position.

On – switching on the engine electrical equipment and all consumers. Corresponds to the driving conditions.

ACC – Switching on additional consumers (for example a receiver), the engine electrical equipment is switched off.

LOCK – The engine electrical equipment is switched off, the steering wheel is locked. The key can only be removed in this position.

Cars equipped with an immobilizer (engine start coding system)



After removing the key from the ignition switch, the immobilizer system is automatically put into a state of readiness.

When starting the engine, the key may become stuck in the LOCK position. To release the key, first make sure the key is fully inserted into the lock, then rock the steering wheel while gently turning the key in the lock.

Warning! Do not remove the key from the ignition while driving, as this will lock the steering wheel and make the car uncontrollable.


Diesel Engine Cars
