Warning! Never remove the key while the vehicle is moving, as this will lock the steering wheel and cause loss of control of the vehicle. Do not leave the key in the "ON" position if the engine is not running. This may discharge the battery and damage the ignition.

Note: If the vehicle is equipped with an engine immobilizer system, the engine immobilizer system will be automatically activated when the key is removed.

The ignition and steering column lock switch is located to the right of the steering column (refer to the accompanying illustration).

Below is a description of the position of the ignition key in the lock.

"START" – turns on the starter. The key will return to the "ON" position when released.

"ON" – turns on the engine and all types of auxiliary equipment. This is the normal position when driving.

"ACC" - auxiliary devices such as the radio are working, but the engine is off.

"LOCK" - the engine is off and the steering wheel is locked. The key can only be removed in this position. Press the key to turn it from the "ACC" position to the "LOCK" position. If the key is removed, the engine immobilizer system will be set automatically. When starting the engine, the key may appear stuck in the "LOCK" position (blocking). To release it from this position, first make sure the key is pressed all the way in, then turn the steering wheel slightly while carefully turning the key.
