Attention! Never remove the key while the vehicle is moving as this will lock the steering wheel and cause loss of vehicle control. Don't leave the key in position «ON», if the engine is not running. Doing so may drain the battery and damage the ignition.
Note. When the vehicle is equipped with an engine blocking system, when the key is removed, the engine blocking system will automatically work.
The ignition and steering column lock switch is located to the right of the steering column (refer to accompanying illustration).
Below is a description of the position of the ignition key in the lock.
«START» - starter activation. Key will return to position «ON» when released.
«ON» – turning on the engine and auxiliary equipment of all kinds. This is the normal driving position.
«ACC» – Auxiliary devices such as the radio are on, but the engine is off.
«LOCK» – the engine is off and the steering wheel is locked. The key can only be removed in this position. You must press the key to turn it from the position «ACC» into position «LOCK». If the key is removed, the engine immobilization system will automatically be set. When starting the engine, the key may appear to be stuck in the «LOCK» (blocking). To release it from this position, first make sure the key is fully depressed and then turn the steering wheel slightly while gently turning the key.
