Checking and adjusting the parking brake [Toyota Corona T190]

1. Check the travel of the parking brake lever.

Pull the parking brake lever all the way down and count the number of clicks.

Parking brake lever movement at 196 N tension force: 4-7 clicks.

2. If necessary, adjust the travel of the parking brake lever.

Note: Before adjusting the parking brake, make sure the rear brake shoe clearance is adjusted.

  • a) Remove the decorative cover.
  • b) Loosen the lock nut and, by turning the adjusting nut, set the required travel of the parking brake lever.


  • c) Tighten the lock nut. Tightening torque 6.4 Nm.
  • d) Install the decorative casing.
