For cars "Toyota 4 Runner/ Hilux/ Surf" a single-section rear cardan shaft with 2 cardan joints is installed. Front shaft (on all-wheel drive vehicles) and the rear shaft are equipped with a sliding spline connection. This connection is made integral with the hinge fork and is part of the cardan shaft.
From the transfer case side (on all-wheel drive vehicles) the shafts are attached via a flange sealed with 2 seals (see subsection 6.3.2).
During operation, care of cardan shafts comes down to checking the condition, checking the presence of balancing counterweights and their fixation, as well as cleaning.
Lubrication of the joints is generally not required.
