For cars "Toyota 4 Runner/ Hilux/ Surf" a single-section rear propeller shaft with 2 cardan joints is installed. front shaft (on all-wheel drive vehicles) and the rear shaft are equipped with a sliding spline connection. This connection is integral with the yoke and is part of the cardan shaft.
From the transfer box (on all-wheel drive vehicles) shafts are mounted through a flange sealed with 2 glands (see subsection 6.3.2).
During operation, caring for cardan shafts is reduced to checking the condition, checking for the presence of balancing counterweights and their fixation, as well as cleaning.
Lubrication of the hinges is usually not required.
