- A) Turn on the ignition.
- b) Set the light switch to position "AUTO".
- V) Close the light sensor and check that the instrument lighting and headlights turn on.
- G) Open the light sensor, check that the lighting is turned off.
- d) Turn on the ignition, close the light sensor. The lighting will turn on.
- e) Check that the lighting turns off under the following conditions: setting the light switch to the "OFF", when increasing with illumination in the sensor area, when the driver's door is opened with the ignition off.
- and) Open the driver's door (ignition off).
- h) With the door open, turn the light switch to "AUTO". Check that the lighting turns on when the ignition is turned on.
2. Adjust the sensitivity of the light sensor.
The sensitivity of the sensor is increased by turning it counterclockwise, and decreased by turning it counterclockwise.
Models up to 1996
Disconnect the connector from the sensor and check the sensor circuit on the harness side according to Table 1.
Models after 1996
1. Disconnect the connector from the sensor and check the sensor circuit on the harness side according to Table 2. If the circuit is as described, check the circuit with the sensor connected. If the circuit does not match the description, check other elements of the system.
2. Connect the connector to the sensor and check the circuit on the reverse side of the connector according to table 3.
Verification conditions:
- The ignition is on.
- Light switch in position "AUTO".
- Sufficient illumination. If the circuit is as described but the fault persists, replace the sensor.
