Planetary gear (A132L): 1 - intermediate gear driven pinion, 2 - rear planetary gear set epicycle, 3 - first gear and reverse brake (B ₃), 4 - freewheel clutch No.2 (F ₂), 5 - second gear brake (B ₂), 6 - forward clutch (C ₁), 7 - brake to ensure engine braking mode in second gear (B ₁), 8 - direct drive clutch (C ₂), 9 - intermediate shaft, 10 - rear planetary gear set carrier, 11 - freewheel clutch No.1 (F ₁), 12 - front and rear planetary gear set sun gears, 13 - front planetary gear set carrier, 14 - input shaft
A132L: 1 - intermediate gear driven gear, 2 - intermediate gear driving gear, 3 - intermediate shaft, 4 - rear planetary gear set, 5 - front and rear planetary gear set sun gears, 6 - front planetary gear set, 7 - input shaft
The planetary gearbox consists of two planetary gear sets, two locking clutches, three brakes and two freewheel clutches.
Elements of a planetary gearbox
1. Forward clutch (C ₁) - connects the input shaft and the epicycle of the front planetary gear set.
2. Direct drive clutch (C ₂) - connects the input shaft and the sun gears of the front and rear planetary rows.
3. Engine braking brake in second gear (B ₁) - stops the sun gears of the front and rear planetary rows.
4. Second gear brake (B ₂) - stops the outer ring of the freewheel clutch No.1, thus prohibiting the counter-clockwise rotation of the sun gears of the front and rear planetary rows.
5. First gear and reverse brake (B ₃) - stops the rear planetary gear carrier.
6. Freewheel clutch No.1 (F ₁) - when the second gear brake is engaged, B ₂ prohibits counterclockwise rotation of the sun gears of the front and rear planetary rows.
7. Freewheel clutch No.2 (F ₂) - prevents the rear planetary gear carrier from rotating counterclockwise.
