2WD models (except A132L): 1 - intermediate gear driven pinion, 2 - intermediate shaft, 3 - intermediate gear driving pinion, 4 - rear planetary gear set, 5 - front planetary gear set, 6 - planetary gear, 7 - torque converter, 8 - input shaft, 9 - main gear drive pinion shaft, 10 - drive shaft, 11 - drive shaft, 12 - differential

Planetary gear (2WD models except A132L): 1 - first gear and reverse brake (Bj), 2 - freewheel clutch No.2 (B ₃), 3 - second gear brake (B ₂). 4 - forward clutch (C ₁), 5 - brake providing engine braking mode in second gear (B ₁). 6 - direct drive clutch (C ₂), 7 - front planetary gear set, 8 - freewheel clutch No.1 (F ₁), 9 - rear planetary gear set, 10 - downshifting planetary gear set, 11 - downshifting planetary gear set clutch (C ₃), 12 - downshifting planetary gear set freewheel clutch Ns3 (F ₃), 13 - downshifting planetary gear set brake (B ₄)

The planetary gearbox contains three planetary gear sets, three locking clutches, four brakes and three freewheel clutches.

Power from the engine is transmitted through the torque converter to the input shaft of the planetary gearbox.

Gear shifting is accomplished by engaging a specific combination of two controls, which changes the output shaft speed.

Elements of a planetary gearbox

1. Forward coupling (C₁) - connects the input shaft and the epicycle of the front planetary row.

2. Direct drive coupling (C₂) - connects the input shaft and solar gears of the front and rear planetary row.

3. Coupling of the lowering planetary row (C₃) - connects the solar gear of the lowering planetary row and the carrier of the lowering planetary row.

4. Engine brake in second gear (B₁) - stops the sun gears of the front and rear planetary row.

5. Second gear brake (B ₂) - stops the outer ring of the freewheel clutch No.1, thus preventing the sun gear of the front and rear planetary rows from rotating counterclockwise.

6. First gear and reverse brake (B₃) - stops the driver of the rear planetary row.

7. Downshift brake (B ₄) - stops the sun gear of the downshift planetary gear set

8. Freewheel clutch No.1 (F ₁) - when the second gear brake is engaged, B ₂ prohibits counterclockwise rotation of the sun gears of the front and rear planetary rows.

9. Freewheel clutch No.2 (F ₂) - prevents the rear planetary gear carrier from rotating counterclockwise.

10. Freewheel clutch of the reduction gear (F ₃) - prohibits clockwise rotation of the sun gear of the reduction planetary row.
