Attention! If the vehicle is equipped with electronically controlled air suspension, turn off the suspension height control switch before raising the vehicle.
1. Loosen the wheel nuts, raise the vehicle and securely support it under it. Remove the wheel.
2. Turn away a counternut and remove a tip of steering draft (see paragraph 18).
3. Remove the steering boot clamps (pic. 19.3) and remove the cover.

4. Before installing a new boot, wrap the threaded section and the notched section at the end of the tie rod with adhesive tape so as not to damage the end of the new boot, which has a smaller diameter.
5. Put on a new cover on the steering mechanism so that its edge enters the groove in the steering rod, and install new clamps.
6. Remove adhesive tape and install tie rod end (see paragraph 18).
7. Install the wheel and tighten the wheel nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts to the specified torque specified in Specifications at the beginning of this chapter.
