Steering Gear Covers — Replacement [Toyota Camry XV20]

1. Raise the front of the car and place it on stands. Remove the wheel.

2. Remove the steering rod end and unscrew the lock nut.



3. Remove the outer clamp of the cover by squeezing its ends with pliers. The inner clamp is cut off.

4. Wrap the splines and threads on the rod with tape.

5. Place the new cover so that its edge fits into the groove on the steering rod and secure with new clamps.

6. Remove the tape and install the tie rod end.

7. Install the wheel and lower the vehicle.
