1. Raise the front of the car and place on stands. Remove the wheel.
2. Remove the tie rod end, unscrew the lock nut.
3. Remove the outer collar of the cover by squeezing its ends with pliers. The inner collar is cut off.
4. Wrap the splines and threads on the rod with tape.
5. Put on a new cover so that its edge goes into the groove on the steering rod and secure with new clamps.
6. Remove tape and install tie rod end.
7. Install the wheel and lower the car.
