Removing
1. Put the car on the platform and point the front wheels straight ahead. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel (see paragraph 16), then turn the ignition key to the LOCK position (LOCK), to prevent the steering shaft from turning.
Warning. If this is not done, the airbag coil spring may be damaged.
3. Remove the lower trim panel under the steering column and knee buffer behind it.
4. Remove the steering column covers.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector (s) steering column wiring harness (pic. 17.5).

6. Mark the position of the universal joint of the steering shaft relative to the intermediate shaft, and then unscrew the coupling bolt (pic. 17.6).
Pic. 17.6. Mark the position of the universal joint relative to the intermediate shaft (A), and then remove the pinch bolt (IN)
7. Turn out bolts of fastening of a steering column (pic. 17.7), lower the speaker and pull it back, making sure that nothing prevents it from being removed. Separate the intermediate shaft from the steering shaft and remove the steering column.
