Notes:
- At removal and installation of the steering mechanism be guided by the corresponding assembly drawing.
- Installation is made in an order, the return to removal. Tightening torques are shown in the assembly drawing "Removing the steering gear". When installing, align the marks made during removal.
- After installation, top up the power steering fluid. Check for fluid leaks.
- Check the front wheel alignment.
When removing, pay attention to the following operations:
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Drain the system fluid.
3. Tape the steering gear to prevent damage to the body and remove the gear.
4. Disconnect the pressure and return pipeline from the steering mechanism.
Note:
- When installing, make sure the connection is correct.
- Do not bend the hose tip.
3. Put the car on stands.
4. Remove finishing of the lower part of devices from outside the driver.
5. Remove overlays of a steering column.
6. Remove the boot and remove the protective cover of the steering column.
7. Hang the motor on the hoist.
8. Remove the subframe:

Examination
1. Check rail.
A) Using a dial gauge, check rack runout.
- Maximum runout - 0.15 mm
b) Check the rail surface for wear and damage.
Note: Do not use an iron brush when cleaning.
2. Using a torque wrench, measure the torque of the worm.
- Rated torque - 0.8 - 1.0 Nm
Steering rod replacement
1. Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle arm.
A) Mark the tip and tie rod.
b) Loosen the locknut and remove the tie rod end.
2. Remove steering draft.
A) Remove a cover and collars of steering draft.
b) Unbend the bent parts of the retaining ring.
V) Loosen the tie rod as shown. Remove the lock washer.
4. Install the tie rod.
A) Install a new retaining ring.
b) Install and tighten the tie rod.
V) Lock the lock washer.
5. Install the cover.
A) Make sure the hole in the steering rack is not clogged with grease.
Note: If the hole is clogged, the pressure generated inside the boot when the steering wheel is turned may damage the boot.
b) Install the cover and secure it with a small clamp. Install the large clamp, but do not fasten.
6. Install the tie rod end and tighten the lock nut. Make sure that the cover is not twisted and secure it with a large tie.
7. Connect the tie rod end to the steering knuckle arm.
8. Adjust a convergence of forward wheels.
