Attention! If the vehicle is equipped with electronically controlled air suspension, turn off the suspension height control switch before raising the vehicle.
1. After any operation that disconnected the power steering lines, bleed air from the power steering system to achieve the desired power steering.
2. Point the front wheels straight ahead and check the fluid level in the booster reservoir. If it is low, add fluid to the Cold mark (cold state) on the level dipstick.
3. Start the engine and let it run at fast idle. Check the fluid level again and top up if necessary to the Cold mark (cold state) on the level dipstick.
4. Remove air from the system by turning the steering wheel from lock to lock without stopping at the limit positions. This will purge air from the system. When performing this procedure, make sure that the tank is full.
Note. This procedure can be performed after lifting the front of the car with a jack and installing reliable supports under it. This makes it easier to turn the wheels back and forth during the bleed procedure.
5. After removing air from the system, return the wheels to the position «straight ahead» and let the engine run for a few more minutes before turning off the engine.
6. Road test the vehicle to ensure that the steering system is working properly and that there are no unusual noises.
7. Check fluid level again. At normal operating temperature, the engine should reach the Hot mark (hot state) on the level dipstick. Add fluid if necessary (see chapter 1).
