Note. Headlights must be properly adjusted. If the headlights are not adjusted correctly, they can dazzle oncoming traffic and cause a serious accident or seriously impair your visibility of the road. Headlight alignment should be checked every 12 months and when new headlights are fitted or when body work is done on the front of the vehicle. It should be noted that the following procedure is only an intermediate step that provides temporary adjustment. The final adjustment of the headlights must be carried out at a workshop that does not have the appropriate equipment.
Note. Not all models described in this manual have horizontal adjustment screws.
1. There are several ways to adjust the headlights. The easiest way requires masking tape, a blank wall and a flat horizontal platform.
2. Apply masking tape to the wall vertically to mark the center line of the car and the center lines of both headlights (pic. 17.2).

3. Stick masking tape horizontally at the level of the center line of all headlights.
Note. It may be easier to stick the tape on the wall correctly when the car is parked a few centimeters away from it.
4. Adjustment should be made when the vehicle is parked approximately 7.6 m from the wall, the vehicle is level, the tank is half full of fuel, and there are no heavy loads in the vehicle.
5. Starting with the low beam adjustment, position the high light area so that it is 5 cm below the horizontal line. Adjust by turning the vertical adjustment screw to raise or lower the beam (pic. 17.5). If you cannot find the adjustment knob, contact rice. 16.7, a.
Pic. 17.5. To turn the vertical adjustment knob, insert a Phillips screwdriver into the gap at the top, engage the head of the screwdriver with the teeth on the knob, and turn the latter
6. When adjusting the high beam, keep in mind that the area of high light intensity should be vertically centered on the line of symmetry just below the marked horizontal line.
Application. It is not possible to precisely adjust the high and low beam headlights at the same time. A compromise is needed, in which case keep in mind that low beams are used more and have a greater impact on driver safety.
7. At the first opportunity, have your dealer's service department or a non-specialized service station have your headlights adjusted professionally.
