2. Remove the inlet chamber.
3. Turn away spark plugs.
4. Remove timing belt cover #2.
5. Check the alignment marks of the camshaft sprocket.
- A) Rotate the crankshaft pulley and align its mark (excavation) with setting mark "0" on cover #1 of the timing belt.
- b) If necessary, rotate the camshafts and align the timing marks as shown in the illustration.
- If there is more than one tooth of the toothed pulley between the marks, reset the marks according to step 7.
- If there is less than one tooth of the toothed pulley between the marks, re-set the marks according to step 8.
6. Remove the cylinder head cover.
7. Adjust the timing marks on the camshaft sprocket.
- A) Remove the tensioner by unscrewing the two bolts.
- b) Remove the timing belt from the camshaft pulleys.
- V) Align the alignment marks on the camshafts and timing belt cover #3 by turning the camshafts with a wrench.
- G) Reinstall the timing belt and check the tension between the crankshaft sprocket and the intake camshaft sprocket.
Note: Install the timing belt on a cold engine.
- d) Install the tensioner by tightening the two bolts (See page 41 point 12 for tensioner installation procedure).
- Tightening torque - 21 Nm
- e) Slowly turn the crankshaft pulley two turns from TDC to TDC.
Note: Always turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise.
- and) Check that each pulley is aligned with the match marks as shown in the illustration.
- h) Using a feeler gauge, check the clearance between the tensioner housing and the idler pulley retainer.
- Nominal clearance - 1.80-2.20 mm
8. Check the valve timing.
- A) Using a wrench, turn and align the notches on the camshafts with the notches on the camshaft bearing caps.
- b) Rotate the crankshaft pulley and align its mark (excavation) with setting mark "0" on cover #1 of the timing belt.
- Mark alignment±2.4 mm
9. Valve timing adjustment.
- A) Fix the camshafts with a wrench at the hexagonal section and loosen the bolts securing the toothed pulleys.
Note: Do not tension the timing belt when loosening the bolts.
- b) Check the alignment of the notches on the camshafts with the notches on the camshaft bearing caps.
- V) Using a magnetic rod, remove the dowel pins from the toothed pulleys as shown.
- G) Rotate the crankshaft pulley and align its mark (excavation) with setting mark "0" on the cover No. 1 of the timing belt
- d) Select a pin hole and install the pin.
Note:
- If the holes are not aligned, turn the crankshaft a little and insert the pin into the nearest hole.
- By selecting the following pin hole, the crankshaft can be rotated 2°.
- By choosing a pin hole through one, you can rotate the crankshaft by 5°.
- e) Fix the camshafts with a wrench at the hexagonal section and tighten the bolts securing the toothed pulleys.
- Tightening torque - 59 Nm
Note: Do not tension the timing belt when tightening the bolts.
- and) Slowly turn the crankshaft pulley two turns from TDC to TDC.
- h) Check valve timing.
10. Install timing belt cover #2.
11. Install spark plugs.
12. Install the cylinder head cover
13 Install the inlet chamber.
14. Install the generator.
